Founded in 2011, by President & CEO, Derrick D. Pete, Music Diary Media Group is a full service production company, providing clients efficient access to the industry’s most creative talent and technical experts. Music Diary creates original content for individuals and organizations within the film and television industry as well as corporate clients, large and small.
Music Diary, with its organizing principle “Always Original”, develops content that challenges, inspires, engages, and most of all, entertains. Everyone has an untold story. We help you tell yours.
Music Diary produced or was an integral part of several live concert events at some of the largest venues throughout Southern California, including, but not limited to the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live, The Forum, John Anson Ford Amphitheater and the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
Recently, Music Diary has branched out to venues throughout the country, producing an event at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC (September 2014) and in pre-production of an event at the legendary Fisher Theatre in Detroit.
Music Diary has also created content for several non-profit or private institutions, including—The Brotherhood Crusade, The Coalition for At-Risk Youth, University of Southern California Black Alumni Association, and Detroit Wayne County Health Authority —with the planning and execution of their annual gala/concert events. Some of our corporate brand clients include: Downtown Santa Monica, Inc., international auto company, Hyundai Motor America, international public real estate trust, Ventas, and international travel retailer, Dufry.
In 2012, Music Diary was a producer on Lisanne Sartor’s award-winning short film, Six Letter Word, starring Rumer Willis for AFI’s Directing Workshop for Women. Six Letter Word was an official selection of the Telluride Film Festival (August 2013) as well as an official selection of the American Pavilion Emerging Filmmakers showcase at the Cannes Film Festival (May 2013).
In 2013, Music Diary produced, Marriage of Inconvenience, selected by the Project Involve shorts program and presented during the Los Angeles Film Festival (June 2013). Project Involve is Film Independent’s signature diversity program that fosters the talents of emerging filmmakers.
In 2014, Music Diary produced the hit stage play, Steel Magnolias, with an African-American cast at the Hudson Theatre in Los Angeles. We are proud to announce that the production was recently honored with 4 NAACP Theatre Award nominations, including Best Director and Best Ensemble Cast.
In 2014, Music Diary produced, Waste Paper, a fantasy/adventure narrative short film developed in partnership with the Oscar-award winning visual effects team at Digital Sandbox as well as Scarecrow VFX, a company formed by ex-Digital Domain and Rhythm & Hues professionals.
